RMK AIMES Conference & Training Center, Istanbul
Rahmi M. Koç Academy of Interventional Medicine, Education, and Simulation (RMK AIMES) is a conference and training center that is located in the same campus with Koç University Hospital in Istanbul.
It is dedicated to not only serving Koç University medical and nursing students, and Koç Healthcare medical professionals but also the entire region to improve healthcare through the use of simulation and advanced learning approaches.
RMK AIMES has 5 floors with 6,500 m2 area equipped with infrastructure and technology accommodates healthcare providers including surgeons, physicians, interventionists, nurses and students.
Its aim is to provide healthcare through the use of simulation and advanced learning approaches.
Basement floor is dedicated for hands-on training courses that includes:
- Intuitive Da Vinci training center having Da Vinci Xi and X surgical robotic systems
- Medtronic Hugo RAS training center having a Medtronic Hugo RAS
- 9 laparoscopy towers & stations for laparoscopic training
- 9 working stations for cadaveric training
- 5 POP (pulsatile organ perfusion) trainers
- 9 laparoscopy training boxes
Halls, seminar rooms, classrooms and auditorium:
- Flexible multipurpose hall, 850 m2, 230 people capacity in large configuration.
- Auditorium: 84 people capacity, ascending seating set up
- Large seminar room: 60 m2, 45 people capacity, ascending seating set up
- Small seminar room: 50 m2, 40 people capacity, ascending seating set up
- Large classroom: 110 m2, 45 people capacity, level seating with desks & movable chairs
- Small classroom: 60 m2, 25 people capacity, level seating with desks & movable chairs
- Multipurpose hall: 60 people capacity, can transform to practical training area
Because of being located in the same campus with Koç University Hospital, live surgery broadcast connections have already been established between the training center and the hospital.
There is also a Guest House that is also located in the same campus and within the guest house there is a 500 people capacity conference hall that can be used for events and meetings.
